Go to: and get all information about your credit report.

The online credit report is really FREE! No tricks or gimmicks!

Unlike the competition you also get your credit score.

you get updates on your credit file

You get a prepaid Mastercard debit card.

There's no credit card needed to get your free credit report.

If you do the annual credit report dot com, you will receive the outline of everything that's on the report without the score. If you need the score, you will have to pay a small fee to get it. At that point, you will need a credit card.
Wishing the best 4 ya!

The only way to get a truly free credit report is though the actual agencies themselves, Experian, TransUnion, and Equifax. They will allow you, by law, one free credit report every year, plus you are entitled to a free report if you are turned down for credit based on a report from that agency.

FreeCreditReport.com, AnnualCreditReport.com, and similar sites are looking to sign you up for credit monitoring services. They require a credit card even though the first month is free. They hope you will forget to cancel the service before they charge you for the second month.

This agency is authorized by the federal government. It is the ONLY TRULY FREE credit report - no credit card required.

NO OTHER WEBSITE is authorized to do this.

~~Most savings plans allow a few withdrawals a month without penalty. So you could go with that. To choose a bank, look at ones most convenient to where you live, then compare their interest rates on savings. Also be sure they do not charge you a monthly maintenance or if they do it's only if it falls below a certain amount. You can do most of the comparison on line thru their websites.~~

Before signing the agreement you must read it thoroughly
Then decide whether you can adhere to the instructions given therein. If it is OK. you can go ahead to get a loan. What they require is prompt repayment of loan either in a lump sum with interest or by monthly instalments They need not bother about your success or otherwise in your exam.

Vivian, awesome question! Building a good credit history is crucial in these times. Its not like the old days of handshakes and verbal agreements. Starting a checking account is the first thing, making sure you don't bounce any checks. If you bank offers a "true" Credit card then apply for a Mastercard or Visa, Discover (not the greatest). Do NOT apply for an American Express card - yet (ill tell you why later). Be very thorough in your planning. Buy something small - when the bill comes pay it immediately. Buy something else small, pay that off immediately. Do this occasionally throughout the year, paying off the balance as soon as you get the bill - IN FULL each time.

You can also get a small loan for a car if you dont have one. Dont go and buy some expensive car that might have you being late on your payments and hurting the history you are trying to build. Keep within your means and work from there. You will find that being DEBT FREE and having a GOOD credit score is the "New Sucess Story" in America. Not like it was even a year ago.. those having houses they couldnt afford, a BMW that they were not making the payments on etc.

Your credit history will stick with you for years and years and years. Mistakes will stick with you even longer. Good luck with your endeavor!

PS.. Vivian...The 2nd best adice I can give you about credit.. Never, Ever, Never.. EVER.. COSIGN for ANYONE... ANYONE.. Including Friends, FAMILY.. NOBODY. This is the worst thing you could do for your credit. TRUST me on this.

American Express is not the best for people starting out. The balances MUST be paid upon receipt of the bill. There is no paying it over time. Its good for businesses or people with ALOT of handy cash. DONT get one of these just yet.
